Dr Anshu Ogra is an Affiliate Research Associate on the Landslip Project in the Department of Geography.

She submitted her PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India in July 2017. The title of her thesis was, 'Science and situated knowledge: Coffee growers and adaptation strategies for climate change in South India'.

Anshu has three years' teaching experience at undergraduate and master's levels.

Anshu's research specifically looks at how extreme weather events and disasters are perceived by the local and scientific community and the policy-making institutions.

She is currently engaged in the institutional mapping of disaster management in India.


PhD supervision

Anshu would be happy to supervise PhD proposals in the areas of:

  • Mapping institutional, policy and knowledge landscapes.
  • Climate change adaptation and situated knowledge.
  • Science technology studies work exploring the conventionally drawn epistemological line between scientific and non-scientific knowledge.
